Pet Portal
Our Policy

To insure the best communication, and in an effort to reduce misunderstandings, the following represents the current practice policies under which we render services:

Bringing Your Pet to the Hospital or Pet Spa
For the safety of your pet and other companion creatures, please bring your dog on a leash and your cat, pocket pet, or feathered friend in an appropriate carrier.

Medical Care
The veterinarians and all the support staff will do their utmost best to provide the highest quality care available. When we feel it advisable, because of a limitation of our facility, or because there is even better care available from a specialist, we will suggest a referral. With respect to our care, please ask for an itemized estimate.

We pride ourselves in practicing complimentary medicine. That is, while our staff is trained in traditional Western medicine, we also offer a variety of alternative therapies such as Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Nutritional Supplementation, Herbal Medicine, and Behavior Modification. Should you desire to explore any of these options please talk to us.

Over-Night Care
While we have a trained, live-in Attendant who supervises animals left over night in the Pet Spa or the hospital, we require that all critical cases be admitted to the Emergency Clinic for night-time stays, so that they will be assured expert care.

Boarding
Even with the best of care, boarding is stressful for your pet, because it is away from home in a strange environment. As a result, chronic medical conditions may be exacerbated. While we will do everything in our power to keep your pet safe, happy, and comfortable, we cannot be responsible for medical complications due to stress. In such an event we will do our utmost best to contact you immediately, as well as provide whatever care is necessary. However, you will be responsible for the cost of any medical procedures necessary to the health and well-being of your pet should such a situation arise. Please also be aware that for insurance reasons and your safety, owners are not allowed to make pet visitations in the Pet Spa. However, we will be happy to let you visit with your pet in one of our exam rooms if it is here for a long stay.

Payment
In order to keep your costs from rising exponentially, we no longer bill for our services, but require payment either at the time the service is rendered, or when you pick up your pet. In the spirit of being flexible, we accept Visa™, MasterCard™, cash, and checks (with proper identification). We now require a $100 deposit to schedule any surgical procedure and we will need to take an impression of a valid credit card (Visa™ or MasterCard™ only) OR check written out to the full amount listed on the estimate for the procedure . If you send an employee to pick up your pet, please make certain that either we have a valid credit card impression on file or that you send a means of payment.

Suggestions
We are always interested in ways to improve our services. If you have some great ideas or constructive suggestions please send an email to schulhofhospital@sbcglobal.net.
